Marriott International, Inc. has announced the opening of the Sheraton Milan San Siro, following a more than €60 million renovation of the former Grand Hotel Brun. Owned by European Hotel Investments and located in the San Siro district, an area with a purely residential vocation and facilities dedicated to city entertainment, the hotel is part of the brand's strategy of continued expansion and consolidation in Milan.
"Thanks to Marriott and a team of designers and project managers, led by Philippe Sudreau, head operations european hotel investments and Società Rinascimento Valori, the new Sheraton Milan San Siro, after a total renovation is set to become the best in its category and the preferred choice for Milan travelers and guests," said Philippe Berman, chairman of European Hotel Investments.
Led by designer Chiara Caberlon of Milan-based CaberlonCaroppi Italian Touch Architects, the extensive architectural and interior design project was developed drawing inspiration from urban resorts with custom furnishings inspired by Milanese architectural elements and the color palette of the Lombard capital.
A curved modernist architecture characterizes the main body of the building, reflected in the interior public and private spaces that have been totally transformed through clean, refined Milanese design. Defined by the building's distinctive Y-shaped architectural form, the hotel's interiors feature a thoughtful combination of styles that recall a 1960s look offset by natural finishes and colors. "Our goal was to harmoniously integrate the hotel's large indoor spaces and outdoor areas through the common thread of refined contemporary and linear Milanese design, enhanced by flexible spaces to enhance social interaction and encourage collaboration in an urban resort context, inspired by natural elements," said architect Chiara Caberlon, of CaberlonCaroppi Italian Touch Architects.
The hotel has 310 rooms spread over the building's six floors, including 24 suites and a presidential suite, all accessible via a series of elevators and access points. The Sheraton Milan San Siro was designed with both business and leisure guests in mind and offers modern rooms. The 80 Club rooms and 25 suites located on the top two floors have exclusive access to the spacious Club Lounge, an ideal place for individual or group break times with dedicated check-in and check-out and dining options throughout the day. The hotel also has 118 connecting rooms, a practical solution for families.
The hotel also offers the pool oasis area, which is available to guests on vacation or business trips and includes an outdoor pool with a dedicated children's pool. The space is enhanced by solariums, as well as a poolside bar completely surrounded by the green area. Finally, there is anoutdoor play area for children.
With a separate entrance, 21 meeting rooms, 19 of which boast natural light, and two lounges with flexible set-up and configuration, the hotel offers extensive meeting and event facilities spanning a total of 2,500 square meters, transforming it into the largest convention center in the area, also enhanced by the garden and a pool area ideal for social events, with the possibility of also choosing an ad hoc menu inspired by El Patio del Gaucho's dishes. The hotel also has private parking that can accommodate up to 144 cars.
Located on the top floor overlooking the stadium and the Alps, the hotel also boasts a fitness center equipped with the latest Technogym equipment and the Elite Spa and Wellness San Siro complete with four treatment cabins.
